Beginning his career in Veterinary Medicine in 1997, Dr. David Nairn first practiced in Melfort, Saskatchewan with a relocation to Saskatoon in 2008. In 2014 Dave purchased and became the proud owner of Furry Friends Animal Hospital. Awarded the Saskatchewan Veterinary Medical Association Mentorship and Leadership Award in 2014, Dave became the first recipient to be acknowledged for his work with veterinary students.
She is one of our registered veterinary technicians (RVT). She has been at the clinic since 2019 after she graduated from the tech program at Sask Polytech. Before going into the tech program, Tasha went to the u of s where she acquired a degree in agriculture in animal science and bioresources. Her ultimate passion in vet med is surgery/anesthesia and nutrition. She also has a secret love for wildlife and elephants after she spent some time overseas at a rehab center.
Outside of the clinic Tasha is an avid volleyball player, traveler and animal freak! She also grew up on a farm just outside the city close to Dalmeny. In the picture you can see her and her two boxers Roxy and Bailey.
Chayla is a recently graduated Veterinary Technician, from Saskpoly tech in June 2021. After her practicum here at FFAH, she made an easy decision to come back full time after graduating. Chayla always had a love and passion for animals and growing up on an acreage she had a wide variety of animals, consisting of horses, dogs, cats, and rabbits. Her ultimate passion in vet med is Dentistry and surgery. She takes every chance she can get to learn more in the animal dentistry field. She also has a passion for large animal medicine after she spent several weeks at her Large Animal Clinical rotation. Outside of the clinic Chayla likes to spend her time with family and friends and of course with all of her furry friends. She shares her home with 4 cats and shown in the picture, her very special dog Levi.
Fay our Bookkeeper who helps out up front too. If you call early in the morning it will often be her you are speaking with. Fay grew up on a mixed farming operation in northern Saskatchewan, she has worked a variety of jobs from produce manager to embroidery tech over the past 30 years. After raising her family of 2 boys with her husband Terry, Fay decided to follow her dream and pursue a career in the veterinary field. Starting out as the cleaning lady, she gained experience over the last 8 years and started as our book keeper in 2014, however, she will help out wherever needed. Fay loves dogs, horses and baking and currently has 6 dogs and 1 grand dog.
Cori was born in British Columbia, but moved to Saskatoon when she was only 1, so grew up here. She has always had a love of animals and growing up had quite the menagerie consisting of cats, dogs, guinea pigs, a rabbits, birds and turtles. Cori and her husband of 24 years have 3 children, and while they were young, she was self employed. When she re-entered the work force she worked at different administrative and reception jobs until she joined us here at Furry Friends just under a year ago. She was ecstatic for the opportunity to combine her love for animals with her chosen career path. In her spare time Cori enjoys painting, drawing and other crafty projects, as well as cooking and baking. Currently Cori and her husband share their home with their teenage son, 2 dogs and 2 cats and she loves to spend time with them as well as her adult daughters and their fur babies.
Lauren grew up in Prince Albert with a love of animals and when she graduated she moved to Saskatoon to pursue a University degree in Biology and Archaeology. Finishing that she moved to Calgary to continue her education in Zoology. After a year she moved back to Saskatoon and started at a different veterinary clinic in 2007. After the clinic closed Lauren joined the Furry Friends team in 2017. Lauren has 2 dogs (a husky and a sheltie) and participates in agility with the sheltie every week. In 2019 Lauren and her husband welcomed a baby boy and took a year off to raise him. Returning to work in June 2020, she enjoys being back and seeing everyone she missed.
Courtney grew up in and around Aberdeen, Sk and moved to a farm when she was in grade four. Courtney was involved in light horse 4-H for many years and beef 4-H for one year. She has always been very passionate about animals and knew she wanted to work with them. She applied for the veterinary technologist program at Saskatchewan Polytechnic and is hoping to start in the fall of 2022. She has 2 crazy corgi crosses at home named Tucker and ollie, and a fish named Swimshady. Courtney started here at Furry Friends in August of 2021 and loved every second of it. Pictured here with her is Sadie who sadly crossed the rainbow bridge a few months ago.
